We’ve just rolled out InBuddy 1.3.1, and this update puts you in control of where the extension takes you when you click its icon.
Choose Your LinkedIn Landing Page
Not everyone starts their LinkedIn session the same way—some head straight to the feed, others dive into notifications, and many jump right into messaging. With this release, you can now customize your landing destination:
- Feed (default)
- Notifications
- Messaging
Simply head to the Options Page and use the new “Icon click destination” dropdown in General Settings.
A Smarter Click
The experience is designed to feel seamless:
- If a LinkedIn tab is already open, it’ll be focused—no duplicate tabs
- If no LinkedIn tab is open, InBuddy opens one at your chosen destination
- Hovering the icon shows a dynamic tooltip (e.g., “Click to jump to Notifications”) so you always know what to expect
- The tooltip now shows also the types of unread notifications
Under the Hood
We introduced a new setting (default: feed), updated the click handler to respect your preference, and improved the tooltip system to display the chosen destination. The dropdown in settings has also been styled for consistency with the rest of the options page.
This release is all about workflow personalization—whether you’re chasing updates, scanning your feed, or keeping conversations moving, InBuddy now takes you exactly where you need to go.
