InBuddy v1.4.0 – From a Coffee Chat to the Draft Studio Revolution

Spread the love

It all started with a chat with my friend and ex-colleague Gaetano Castaldo.
We were talking about LinkedIn content habits, and he casually said:
“You should really add a way to manage drafts — like a list of posts ready to go.”

Simple idea, right?
Of course, I couldn’t resist taking it a few steps further.

And just like that, InBuddy 1.4.0 was born — turning a casual suggestion into a full-fledged draft management ecosystem for LinkedIn creators.

✨ What’s New in v1.4.0

The Draft Studio

A brand-new standalone interface for all your LinkedIn post drafts, accessible directly from the extension menu.
Think of it as your personal command center for content creation.

  • Local Drafts Dashboard: See all your post drafts neatly organized in a sortable table — with description, content preview, media count, timestamps, and status (Draft or Published).
  • Edit Draft Modal: Create or edit posts with a powerful editor supporting 20+ Unicode text styles, markdown toggle, and real-time character count.
  • Media Management: Upload up to 20 images per draft, preview them instantly, and manage attachments visually.
  • Settings Page: Configure your LinkedIn Pages, manage your profile, and export everything (drafts + pages) as a single JSON file — portable and versioned.

It’s clean, fast, and built for creators who like control over their workflow.

The Drafts Button – Right Inside LinkedIn

The extension now injects a sleek Drafts Button directly into LinkedIn’s post creation modal.

Here’s what it does:

  • Opens a modal with your saved drafts — filtered automatically by the LinkedIn page or profile you’re posting to.
  • Lets you insert any draft directly into the editor with one click (content + media).
  • Optionally marks it as “Published” right after insertion.
  • Works seamlessly with LinkedIn’s UI — smooth animations, contextual awareness, and no duplicate buttons sneaking around.

In short: no more copy-pasting from Notion or text files. You stay in LinkedIn, and InBuddy takes care of the rest.

Behind the Scenes

The magic lies in the details:
Smart filtering, DOM observation, security via HTML escaping, and a sprinkle of smooth UI transitions make the whole experience feel native.

The Draft Studio and Drafts Button now form a two-way bridge between your creative planning and actual publishing.

What’s Next

No AI yet — but that’s coming soon.
The next big step is to bring AI-assisted post generation and rewriting directly into Draft Studio, with the integration with AIDA extension, that will become your proxy for all your AI needs.

Stay tuned, because the next release will make InBuddy not just your assistant, but your creative co-pilot.

Final Thoughts

It’s funny how a friendly suggestion can evolve into something much bigger.
Huge thanks to Gaetano for planting the seed — and to everyone using InBuddy for helping it grow.

Version 1.4.0 is now live, ready to help you organize, polish, and publish your best ideas on LinkedIn.
